Bernd Kolkmann launched his career in the real estate industry in 2007 at swb-Service-Wohnungsvermietungs- und -baugesellschaft in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
In July 2010, he completed his education as a real estate agent at the Essen Chamber of Industry and Commerce as the best of his year. During his education he already successfully completed various courses of study and further training on subjects such as real estate valuation or real estate brokerage. During his third year of his education, Mr. Kolkmann started studying at the EBZ Business School. In order to finance his studies, he acquired real estate in need of modernization for which the foreclosure proceedings had been opened, revitalized it and brought it to new owners.
After completing his education he was entrusted by swb with the independent modernization and maintenance of an approximately 1900 property portfolio. Parallel to his studies at the EBZ Business School, Mr. Kolkmann attended further training courses and study programs at other universities, such as the Private Equity Advisor (EBS/BAI) program at the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel.
In 2011 Bernd Kolkmann founded the company Kolkmann Immobilien as a real estate project development company. Shortly afterwards, the company owner was granted an exemption by the Free State of Bavaria to begin MBA studies at the International Real Estate Business School (IREBS) in addition to his Bachelor's degree.
In 2013 Bernd Kolkmann graduated as "Executive Master of Business Administration Real Estate (IREBS)". During his master studies, the company founder had several periods of study abroad, including studies at the universities of Harvard (USA), Reading (UK), Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Since completing his studies, Mr. Kolkmann has concentrated on the expansion and permanent development of his company. In 2015 he founded the BKI Group.
Mr. Kolkmann also acts as a lecturer at three of the most renowned educational institutions in the real estate industry, teaching the subjects of real estate purchase and sale, construction project management and real estate valuation.
